Are you having to deal with challenging or difficult behaviour from your child or children you look after?

Let’s face it, every child has one of those moments when tempers flare which can quickly morph into them throwing, kicking or shouting.  In the midst of it, you can feel quite helpless and having the tools to react appropriately can be invaluable.  You can learn how to diffuse a situation and support a child to develop and gain the skills they need to regulate their behaviour.

We’ll be talking about effective strategies that you can use and how you feel when you are at the receiving end of the challenging behaviour, whether it is refusing to wear certain clothes or it is a full-blown tantrum. We’ll explore how you feel when the tantrum is in full flight and how you can help a child to regulate their behaviour.

Paediatric First Aid 12 hrs (1 classroom day and on line learning)

Location: Riverside Training Company Holborn Training Rooms

COVID-19 UPDATE 23/3/2020: The face-to-face classroom training day (the Paediatric First Aid practical day), where it is necessary to attend in person, has been temporarily suspended. We will monitor the situation closely and operate within Government guidelines. If you book a classroom training day and we are unable to deliver the session (in line with a Government directive), we will move you to the next available date of your choosing when the session will be delivered. Please watch for further updates.

Event notes:

This accredited full paediatric first aid course suitable for both the Ofsted Compulsory and Voluntary registers is taught by blended learning. Learners are each given their own unique login code to access 6 hours interactive paediatric first aid training. Log in is available 24/7 when it’s most convenient for learners to do the course which minimises disruption if you are working during the day. The E-Learning segment can be easily accessed from computers, laptops and tablets. Students can choose to complete this module in one go or by logging in and out as they complete each segment.

When learners have completed this module they will attend a one-day practical session on one of our classroom dates in our Holborn Training room (a short walk from the tube station). Rest assured that by choosing Riverside Cares to deliver your training, you will always be taught by a highly experienced trainer whose aim is to ensure you know what to do should a medical accident or emergency occur.

You must complete your eLearning prior to your classroom day. If you are not sure which classroom date you require, you may complete your eLearning module first and then book your classroom date. Please contact us for more information.

Riverside Cares has been delivering training and have been early years recruitment specialists since 1989.

The course:

QNUK Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RFQ)

Department of Education legislation requires all newly qualified level two and three childcarers in Early Years settings to have either an emergency paediatric first aid or full paediatric first aid certificate. Riverside Cares offers both courses.

Early Years settings are legally required to have on site at all times at least one person with a valid full 12-hour paediatric first aid certificate the person needs to be available on site and when the setting accompanies children on trips.

Booking this course: Contact Riverside Cares Team via this link

Please note that candidates between the age of 14-16 years can undertake the qualification, however, they should not be relied upon by employers to be a sole first aider.

Attendees will be required to demonstrate first aid procedures as they would in a real work environment, for example providing CPR to a casualty on the floor
