Riverside Nannes – Terms of Business and Scale of Fees

Fees for the Placement of a Permanent Child Carer

2.5% of Candidates Annual Gross Salary
Minimum Fee £200.00

We know the problem some parents experience when a Nanny or Mothers Help leaves and a satisfactory replacement has not yet been found. We suggest using a temporary carer during this difficult period to allow you more time to choose the best person for your family.

TEMPORARY FEES

4 Hour booking   £10.00
One Day (more than 4 hours)   £15.00
One Week   £50.00
Two Week   £80.00
Three Weeks £120.00
Four Weeks £160.00
Five Weeks plus £160.00 + £50.00 per week for each extra week

THE MINIMUM BOOKING PERIOD IS 4 HOURS.  When we invoice you all bookings are defined as Whole

Day, unless you book for the minimum period of 4 hours, which we would class as a Half Day.  Please note that 4 ¼ hours would be classified as a whole day. The agency invoices you separately for its fees at the end of each month.  Should any worker introduced by Riverside Nannies at any time take up permanent employment with the client the appropriate permanent fee will be due.

NIGHT NANNY

AGENCY FEE PER NIGHT £40 per night

(Please note that separately the nanny’s salary will be paid directly by the family to the nanny)

Night nanny hourly rate – £ 12- 20 per hour dependant on how many children are to be cared for.

Please see separate information regarding our Evening Babysitting Service.

INTERMITTANT & AD HOC COVER

If your needs are variable, for example if you are a free-lancer, and need a childcarer but not on a permanent basis, we have devised the perfect system.  We can provide you with childcarers who will receive their hourly salary from you at the end of the session and we separately invoice you each calendar month for the cover you have had.

Nanny hourly rates £9.00 to £12.00 per hour

RIVERSIDE NANNIES AND MOTHERS’ HELP LTD

Terms and Conditions

Riverside Nannies and Mothers Helps Ltd. (the Agency) only undertake business on the following terms and conditions.  These terms and conditions may be amended only by agreement, in writing, of you and the Agency.

  1. The Agency is entitled to a fee (in accordance with its fee schedule for the time being) when it introduces you to a candidate who accepts an offer of employment with you (an Employee).  For the avoidance of doubt the Agency’s fee is due and payable on an offer of employment’s acceptance and not the date the Employee’s services commence.
  2. The Agency is not responsible for negotiations and agreement of salaries or any other terms and conditions of employment. The Agency accepts no responsibility for any matters concerning Tax and National Insurance contributions.
  3. The client must notify the Agency as soon as reasonably practical after an Employee accepts an offer of employment.
  4. The Agency’s fee is payable in respect of each subsequent engagement of the Employee which shall include substantial variations to the terms of the Employee’s employment, (for example, an Employee employed for two days per week who becomes employed for more days per week).
  5. If without the Agency’s written consent, you introduce any candidate or Employee to any person, you shall be liable for the Agency’s fees should the candidate or Employee take up employment with that other person.
  6. The Agency shall refund its entire fee if an Employee fails to commence service.
  7. If an Employee ceases his/her employment within 6 weeks of becoming employed by the Client and provided:
  • The Client was not in breach or had not stated an intention to breach the terms of the Employee’s employment with you, (which includes but is not limited to, seeking to impose without the Employee’s consent variations to the terms of Employment), and;
  • Riverside’s fee was paid within 7 days of the invoice date and;
  • The Client gives Riverside notice in writing within 48 hours of the first notice to the Client of the Employee’s intention to cease his/her employment; then the fee paid for that Employee will be refunded in accordance with the following table:

Employment terminated within:

  • One week 100 % Two weeks 75%
  • Three to four weeks 50% Five to six weeks 25%

Riverside Nannies must be given notice if a temporary booking is cancelled.  If the booking is cancelled before 5pm, prior to the day the booking is due to take place, there will be no agency fee incurred. The cancellation must be confirmed to the agency in writing either by email or fax.

Cancelling a booking is a two-step process. In the first instance please telephone the main numbers (020 7374 6363 and 020 7536 9566) and leave details of the cancellation on our answer-phone or if we are still open with a Consultant. The second and equally important step is to confirm the cancellation in writing by email or fax. Please be aware that if a temporary booking is cancelled either ‘on the day’ or out-of-hours, the evening before the booking is due to take place, the agency fee will be due and further the nanny will be due payment to cover loss of earnings on the following basis:

Notification of cancellation received more than 4 hours (240 minutes) before the job is due to begin  – Agency fee due + Nanny due 2 hours salary*

Notification of cancellation received under 4 hours (239 minutes) before the job is due to begin – Agency fee due + Nanny due 4 hours salary*

  • The agency will request you send a cheque made payable to the Nanny for the salary due. The agency will pass it on to the Nanny on your behalf.  Agency fees will be invoiced in the normal manner.
  • We are reliant on the Nanny receiving notification from us that a job has cancelled, please note that we cannot guarantee being able to make contact though we will try to the best of our endeavours.  Should we not succeed you may be required to pay the higher amount
  • Should you need to cancel a weekend booking during the day on Saturday or Sunday (when our offices are closed) the nanny will need to be paid for four hours to cover loss of earnings, however if the nanny arrives at your door you will need to include fares.
  1. Riverside Nannies shall take reasonable care to interview and check the qualifications and seek what Riverside Nannies considers to be appropriate references in respect of child carers and candidates for permanent employment it introduces. If Riverside Nannies is unable to do any of the above it shall inform the Client of the steps it has taken to obtain this information in any event.  The Client must draw any particular requirements to the attention of Riverside Nannies in writing in a timely manner. Riverside Nannies will use its reasonable endeavours to check that any temporary child carers and candidates for permanent candidates introduced to the Client satisfy those particular requirements. Whenever possible Riverside Nannies will make such enquires as may be reasonably practical to the Disclosure Barring and Screening Service and/or the equivalent authority or police force in the temporary workers country. Please see under Disclosure, Barring and Screening Check at the end of these terms and conditions.
  2. When introducing a candidate to the Client, Riverside Nannies shall inform the Client of the identity of the applicant and their level of experience and training and qualifications. Where such information is not given in paper form or by electronic means it shall be confirmed by one or other of those means by the end of the third business day (excluding Saturday, Sunday and any public or Bank holiday) following, except where the information has already been given to the Client previously.
  3. It is the Client’s duty and Riverside Nannies strongly recommends the Client to take up (even in cases of urgency) personal references as to character, qualifications, experience and suitability and to interview each candidate to investigate and satisfy itself of the suitability of a candidate for employment. Should the Client choose not to take up such references and/or to interview the candidate, Riverside Nannies does not accept any greater obligation than expressly provided for by these terms. In particular, the Agency shall not be responsible if the candidate is unsuitable for any aspect of the post of which the Agency was not aware, nor for any other matter concerning the candidate, which would have been discovered by you, had you sought personal references or reasonably interviewed the candidate.
  4. The Client shall advise Riverside Nannies of any special health and safety matters about which Riverside is required to inform the child carer and about any requirements imposed by law or by any professional body, which must be satisfied if the child carer is to fulfil the Assignment.  The Client will assist Riverside Nannies in complying with Riverside Nannies duties under the Working Time Regulations by supplying any relevant information about the employment requested by Riverside Nannies and the Client will not do anything to cause Riverside Nannies to be in breach of its obligations under these Regulations.
  5. Riverside Nannies shall not be liable (and the Client agrees and acknowledges that in the circumstances of Riverside and obligations of the Client that this provision is reasonable) for any acts, omissions, default, loss or damage caused or contributed to, by a temporary Child carer or a permanent employee introduced by Riverside Nannies.
  6. Interest shall be charged on any sum due to the Agency for more than seven days at the rate of 8% over Barclays Bank PLC’s rate from the due date until the date of payment.

Please note: Best practice for all employees involved in the care of Children requires that a Disclosure, Barring and Screening check be produced by every employee.  However the Disclosure, Barring and Screening Check is not absolute assurance that any person is suitable for the care of children.  You should check the date of the Disclosure, Barring and Screening Check.  It will not record matters occurring after its date and may not record matters arising within the short period before its issue.  Always look for the local equivalent of a Disclosure, Barring and Screening Check in respect of a person who has moved to this country.  However not every country has an exact equivalent of the Disclosure, Barring and Screening Check system.
