Brainstorming over coffee, we tried to decide what would we like every parent to find the time to do?
It was a no-brainer, emergency first aid – why oh why risk not knowing how to react if something unexpected happens. And that’s how it became our prize for the sweetest competition entry for the Parent and Family Fest we sponsored at JW3 recently. We asked about when your baby made you laugh and here was the winning entry:
Our winner, Naomi Gryn was joined by three of her guests to a tailor-made paediatric first aid training session with Jill Wheatcroft of Riverside Cares. Besides being the co-founder of Riverside she is also a Lecturer in Child Health and top maven on all things childcare.
The session Baby and Child First Aid is a popular one with parents and parents-to-be. It covers everything from dealing with emergencies, febrile convulsions, meningitis through to CPR plus much more. Click the link to see more of the course details. We know that there are lots of on-line courses available now, but honestly nothing beats having an expert by your side as you are testing out how to deal with choking, bashes, bruises and the like.
Our aim is to leave every attendee confident that should they have to react, that they know what they are aiming for, and also they know when to call the emergency services.
We asked Naomi about her training experience with us and she shared:
“Whenever I see someone injured, or paramedics tending a patient, I worry that I wouldn’t know what to do in a medical emergency. Well, I know a lot more after Riverside Cares session on Baby and Child First Aid. In just three hours, I like to think that I’ve been properly equipped to know what to do if someone is unconscious or burnt or bleeding, or has stopped breathing, all with the additional protocols for babies and children. Now, I’m just hoping that I’ll never have to put it into practice”.
If you would like to ensure you are equipped to deal with an emergency contact us and we will work with you to create your perfect session at a time and in a place of most convenience to you.
