We can’t wait to get folding and chuffed to be sharing Coco Sato’s Minimalist Christmas Tree tutorial with you. Her sheer creativity explains why she is a Pantone Color Inspires award winner.Coco will be on TV on December 7th with Kirsty Alsop on Handmade Xmas at 7pm but in the meantime we can all get folding with her super tutorial below. What we find particularly interesting is that she is not only an expert at Origami, the Japanese art of intricate paper folding, she is also pushing the boundaries of how the designs can be used and the sizes of her creations.
Ever wondered where the word Origami originates from? It is the amalgamation of two japanese words, Ori meaning folding and Kami meaning paper. Traditionally the aim is to create perfectly folded shapes starting with a flat piece of paper. Coco is taking the skill to exciting places and loves nothing more than giant origami.
