Is it just us or does every single post you read at the moment tell you how this year’s resolution is about how you are going to be your best self?
And is it just us or does it make you do an internal ‘yeah, yeah, yeah’ and then you think about it a bit, buy into low-cal January, but in all honesty, that’s as far as it goes.
So our Riverside Cares top-of-the-list to figure out for January is, What Can I Do That Works For Me to make a meaningful difference in 2019 whether I’m juggling family life, about to grow my family, or I’m running around like a crazy working as a professional childcarer.
Here’s a fresh-start idea to think about to make you feel a whole lot better, why not
Spread The Love And Inspire Others
How about sharing the skills you have with other people or make a plan to give time and or money or items to a charity you care about?
A project that caught our attention that really looks at child poverty in our city is called Little Village Camden, and it’s opening a site in Southwark very soon. Here’s more about it:
LITTLE VILLAGE CAMDEN
‘It takes a village to raise a child – this is especially true in London where we often feel alone as parents.’
Little Village is like a foodbank, but for clothes, toys and equipment for babies and children up to the age of five. Their dream is that no child in the capital grows up without essential items for daily life. They’ve created a way to help support London’s families. Think of what you give as a gift from one family to another; not hand-outs.
